First we must win the "Uncivil War"

Talk of unity and forgiveness ring hollow to my ears.   How do you unite with a group that has conspired and committed violence in an attempt to overthrow your government and install their own Dictator? 

The Actions of January 6th, and the reactions within the Republican Party has made it clear that this is an insurrection, not a political debate.    Insurrections are not put down through "reaching across the aisle."  You cannot wish unity out of someone who would rather see you dead than in power.  

The Republican party must never be allowed to lead again.   It must be ground to powder.  Insurrections are ended by Sherman, not McClellan.  Grant, not Hayes.

Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden seem to still be thinking like McClellan,  they must harden their hearts before the nation is lost.   It is not time to make peace.  While in a position of strength, it is time to drive the enemies of Democracy into the sea.  Only when the GOP is laid waste will we be in a place to "unite" this nation. 

The GOP is an organization people are free to join or leave 

The Republican Party, in it's 2020 platform has declared itself as the party of Donald Trump.  

The Republican Party, through it's leader Donald Trump, has propagated a strategy to overturn a free fair and accurate election in this nation and install Donald Trump  in the place of the elected candidate.   

In service of this strategy, the Republican Party, through it's leader Donald J Trump inspired a violent insurrection, aided by Trump loyalists in the Pentagon, and in the Police, that breached the Capitol of this nation, sought to murder members of Congress and the Vice President, and ended with the death of 6 people.  

The Republican Party through the votes of 147 of it's sitting members of Congress then CONTINUED It's anti democratic strategy in voting to not certify votes that night.  

The Republican Party through it's Senators continues to endorse the antidemocratic actions of Donald J Trump when 45 of it's Senators voted to dismiss the impeachment trial in the Senate.  

The Republican Party IS the party of the insurrection.    

Anyone is free to LEAVE The Republican Party.  

Continuing to be a Republican is collaboration with an anti-democratic Insurrection.  

So I do NOT Ask Republicans if they denounce the Insurrection.   If they are still Republicans today, they have already answered the question.   

Thus the Republican party has ceased to be a legitimate political body.  It must not be given legitimacy and it must end.   Only then can we unite.
